Oh The Weather Outside Is Weather

We woke up to a snowy morning yesterday.  Weather in the mountains can be pretty crazy. You can have a snow storm in July and have a chinook in January that makes it feel like summer again.  I don't mind a good chinook, but when it snows too early I'm just not ready for it.  Nevertheless we still had to go out and bear the cold...I guess we have to get used to it sooner than later since winter is just around the corner.

Casey and Liam all bundled up

Things at Rob's work have been pretty busy lately.  He works at the Nordic Centre making snow for our Olympian cross country skiers.  Last year they made a huge pile of snow (that they call "Frozen Thunder") which remained over the summer covered in a thick layer of sawdust and tarps.  Frozen Thunder gives them a head start on getting the trails ready for the skiers to train on.  They've been pushing out the snow this last week and with the cooler temps we're expected to have they'll be working through the night this weekend to try and make some snow.  Last year at this time it felt like the dead of winter, so they had a really good start to the snow making season.  Hopefully they do as well this year.

Enjoy the weekend!
