A Little of This, A Little of That

Here's what we've been up to on these colder days:

Painting cars and anything else that gets in the way...

Taking the baby out in the stroller...

...on second thought

Awww, what a good brother...

New "party pants" made by me...

Casey, pointing out the animals
Two satisfied customers
Reading some of my favs from when I was a kid...

A stack of new dishcloths just for me (made by me)...

Trying out some new recipes from this great site, like these cottage cheese pancakes (I added peaches to mine)...

...we also made the Spinach MuffinsGraham Crackers, and the Chocolate Zucchini Bread from that same site.  Good thing I've got my little helpers.

And of course we've been playing in the snow too...

Lake Louise

Last weekend we spent a winter wonderland kind of day in Lake Louise.  We played in the snow, went tobogganing and then warmed up inside the Chateau Lake Louise and had a fancy lunch at the Lakeview Lounge

Number One Fans

It's hockey season and even though the NHL isn't playing we're still getting our fix.  Rob plays on a Banff league and every once in a while they play early enough in the evening for the boys and I to go watch.

They both cheered on their Dad yelling out things like "Ka Chow!" (from the movie cars) and "Zamboni!" or "Noooo" when the players crashed into each other.

Casey chowing down some popcorn and Liam most likely telling the players "No!"
Liam giving a high stick salute to Daddy.
Casey giving Daddy a high five after the first period.

Can't wait for the next game!

A Colourful Halloween!

This years Halloween was very colourful and cute with two little (or should I say "big", compared to actual size) crayons running around.  We started our day going to gymnastics where the boys got to do lots of jumping.  Casey dressed up in his yellow costume but Liam just wanted to be Liam at that time...

All tired out?
We stopped on our way out to get a couple goodies at the Rec Centre front desk (where I work) and to show off the boys costumes to my fellow co-workers...Liam doesn't miss a chance to show off for the ladies, so he willingly put his on then...

...answer to the joke? "When you're a mouse"

The evening trick or treating came and went pretty quickly.  I had just finished carving my "Gruffalo" inspired pumpkin when the door bell rang and all (5) of the neighbourhood kids were out for the candy exchange.  We quickly threw on the boys costume and ran outside to join them.  We forgot about having a special halloween bag so Rob dug out their easter baskets at the last second from the garage (That Rob, he's a quick thinker!).

Casey said to the Gruffalo pumpkin "where's the mouse...you need a mouse?"  Funny.

Cute crayons!!

Cute little hand stamped halloween goody bags from our friends Jordy & Paul. These were my favourite!

When we got home they somehow instinctively knew that you're supposed to dump all your candy out onto the floor.  We had a couple treats and then into the cupboards it went...the rest is for Mommy and Daddy!  (Mwahahaha!)

Hope everyone had a fun Halloween!

Busy Little Hands

I thought I should dedicate a post to a few of my favourite works of art that my little guys have created recently.  It's so great to watch them develop through their creativity.  I get excited when I see something new in their scribbles or as I watch the way they explore the feeling of paint between their fingers.  So much fun!

Liam ...nice choice in flowers!

Casey ...love these loops!
