The Big Day

Oh boy, I have a lot of blogging to catch up on.  I've actually been avoiding this space for the last week and half because there's so much that has happened  this month (and so many photos) that I don't know where to begin...

I suppose the wedding seems like the most logical place to start.  It was a day to remember.  And not just any random day...this particular day was chosen 7 years ago.   Rob and I were only a few months into our relationship, when one afternoon (just for fun) my sisters and I began planning the wedding. That's when we came up with the date.  It was based on both of their wedding days; Jenny's on June 9th and Melanie's on August 9th. So we came up with  July 9th for mine, right in the middle.  The only glitch in our plan was in order for that date to land on a Saturday, Rob and I would either have to get married that summer, or seven years from then.  A wedding that summer was definitely not feasible and seven years from then seemed like an eternity away.  It was beginning to look like that day wasn't meant to be...

...Except for that day was meant to be.  Seven years later, our plans came into action and we got married on Saturday July 9th, 2011.  It was a wonderful day spent with people we love, in a place that we love.

Thank you to all of our family and friends for your support, love and good times you've shared with Rob and I over the years.  We appreciate you all so much and this day wouldn't have been the same if we couldn't have shared it with you.

Canada Day!

Here's a little look at our Canada Day celebrations in Canmore.  Rob and I and the boys biked down town to meet up with my parents to watch the parade.  I realized how much more fun parades are when you have kids...who knew marching bands and old men driving little cars could be so entertaining?

Happy Birthday Canada!
