Afternoon Tea

So instead of having a typical "Bridal Shower" which usually involves playing silly games and some sort of hat made from bows (or maybe that's a baby shower?) my wonderful friend Chloe hosted a lovely afternoon English tea party in my honour.  She went above and beyond, baking up a storm, creating all sorts of English style goodies.  The outcome of her hard work was scrump-diddly-umptious!

Mango scones and berry scones, carrot cupcakes, cookies and three types of little sandwiches.
And of course there was the tea.  Several lovely kinds to choose from and old china tea cups to sip from which made it just that much more fun and special.

After enjoying the tea and crumpets, it was time to put our creative caps on.  Instead of those "bridal shower games" I mentioned, Chloe came up with the idea to do a craft. So we made felt flower pins...or at least that's how it started out.

Once the scissors started snippin', the felt was flyin', and those creative juices were a flowin'.  By the end there were all sorts of creations, each one as unique and beautiful as the person who made it.

It was a lovely afternoon of friends, food and felt.

Thanks to all who came and a great big thank you to Chloe for hosting.
